Welcome to the Arizona East Valley Celiac Support Group!!!

The mission of the Arizona East Valley Celiac Disease Foundation Chapter is to offer both knowledge and support to those with Celiac and other related diseases, while creating a greater awareness not only within the Arizona East Valley community, but in any and all other areas that we can. Additionally, we work to empower our members to assert their dietary needs, pursue better health care, and support the best gluten free products and services to maintain good health in mind, body, and spirit.

The East Valley Celiac Disease Foundation Support Group began holding monthly meetings in October 2009!

For WEDNESDAY February 20, 2013: Annual Restaurant Talk meeting with chefs/owners and the fabulous Julia's Gluten Free Bakery red velvet cupcakes as a Happy Belated Valentines!!

This is our annual Restaurant Talk meeting! We will have local restaurant owners/chefs from great places like Gluten Free Creations Cafe and 24 Carrots. We will also feature the local gluten free baker Julia of Julia's GF Bakery with her famous red velvet cupcakes! There will be restaurant gift card giveaways and more, don't miss this!!

In addition to the above, everyone will go home with an Udi's full size gluten free cookie and a coupon for free product from Maplegrove Foods! We look forward to seeing you all Wednesday the 20th-Thanks! :)

As always, we will have a door prize as well as a prize for a member of the Celiac Disease Foundation. We will also have coupons, local menus, and many other handouts available! In addition to all of that, we have TONS of great gluten free cookbooks and informational books to check out from our group library. This is a great way to "try before you buy"!

*There is never a cost to attend our meetings, but we will gladly accept donations to cover the costs of printings and such. Thank you!

  1. Chandice and Shauna, I would enjoy connecting with other families who have preschool age children with celiac disease who live in the east valley. The October 2009 edition of Kids Celebrate, Your East Valley Family Fun Guide (www.kidscelebratemagazine.com) has an article on gluten free cooking classes for children. Currently, I'm looking for an updated list of gluten-free Halloween candy. Thank-you for starting the support group.

    Thank you for your comments. I just looked at the October issue of Kids Celebrate magazine and WOW what a wonderful opportunity that is to participate in a gluten-free childrens cooking class, expecially since it is in conjunction with LynnRae of Gluten-Free Creations Bakery! She is actually our guest speaker for November and the person providing refreshments for October AND November's support group meetings. We love her work! I know that Shauna and I are both hoping that with attendance of as many people as possible at our support group meetings and other activities, we can create sub groups. For example, for mothers like yourself who are looking to meet more parents who have toddlers with Celiac Disease. The more people we have attending the more opportunity there is for Shauna and myself to meet people we can get in connection with each other. I think it would be great to have a little sub group of parents with children with Celiac Disease that can do a gluten-free mom (or dad) and tot outing. Thank you for your suggestion. I hope you are planning to attend the support group meeting this month. We would love to get to know you more. Also, the list of Halloween candy that is gluten free can be found at:
